Sorry I have very little idea about OpenWrt.
You can do CONFIG_ATH9K_RATE_CONTROL=y in the config file if its
possible(thats how I do in compat).
Its based on observation and I don't know much deep into the thing
down link < up link , may be its related to rx problem people were
discussing.
