Dear Reg,
Thanks so much, Reg; removing a couple of things from start-up seems
to have helped, though, with my limited computer knowledge, I didn't see why
they should have affected JAWS, at all, but I knew these couple of things,
for certain, I didn't need in start-up.
JAWS is speaking perfectly now.
With Sincere Thanks,
Darla

Hi darla,
Get a hold of me if you don't have it solved by tomorrow night. It's
definitely not a Jaws issue.

Dear Denny,
Oh no; I downloaded autoruns ***after** the problem happened to see if I
could locate a running program or process that didn't need to be running.
In fact, I haven't installed anything lately; this problem appears to have
just cropped up somehow; if you think it would help, however, I can "Delete"
this program, but I'd need to get it out of the registry, wouldn't I? I can
check to see if I can remove it from add/remove programs.
Many thanks,
Darla

Yes, but it is still installed on your system. Since your problem didn't
start until after you installed it, that would be the first place I would
look.

You mean the program I installed to tell me what all is running? It doesn't
run, unless I ask it to run.

Uninstall the auto run and see if you still have the problem with Jaws.

Hi Everyone,
I had to shut down the computer yesterday; it took forever
for it to come up and now the voice stutters (almost like something is
running in the background that shouldn't be).
I downloaded a program called "autoruns," which presented me
with a daunting list of things that run at start-up, so I have no idea how
to make heads or tails of it; I also shut down JAWS and brought it back up,
and this seems not to have worked either.
I am using a Dell Latitude running Windows 7 (latest
update).
Darla Who isn't sure what else you need to know
