I still am nonplussed by that. What difference does ownership make to
the content of the file?

I compared the working copy from trunk with that revision, and told
WinMerge to check for differences in EOL. The only difference it found
was the date -- no differences in EOLs.

So I don't see any way the problem is related to this file.
