In the German translation of Audacity, both Echo and Reverb are translated
as "Echo" in the Effect Menu but in English, Echo and Reverb are two
different
phenomena:

In Magyar, Invert and Reverse are both translated as "Megfordítás"
("Reversal") which seems just as questionable.
I have not checked for other examples.
I know in current Audacity that using the same name for different
effects will group them into a cascade in the Effect Menu, with the
submenu giving the English effect names as of now, but if and when
those English names become translatable again, it will be very
confusing to have the same name for root menu item and submenus.
So is it possible to use different names for different effects whatever
the language is? Or is there sometimes no suitable word?
