Should they perhaps all end the same?

You mention what mkpoli also mentioned.

I am reluctant to update .pot and demand .po files once again. But
perhaps it would not be difficult to edit all the .po files after you
subissions, to correct these few small things.

I am very pleased with all the volunteer enthusiasm of our translators
for consistent and complete translation. How can we manage the next
release better, so that we can learn sooner about such problems and
correct them?

Were you waiting until the Beta release to try things out as you did?
There was a long lapse between string freeze and Beta release this
time. Perhaps next time we should get Alpha versions into our
translators' hands as soon as we can after the string freeze, not
waiting for Beta or RC (Release Candidate) builds? Direct you to our
nightly builds and invite your comments?

I just noticed the nightly builds just now.

I was looking for updates on https://www.fosshub.com/Audacity.html but it keeps saying 20170901 so i thought that was the newest and no newer ones would come before the final release.

Personally i would properly prefer realeases more oftent.
Instead of once per year as i think it is now maybe multiple releases per year.

Once per year is not very often. Maybe that is among the software i translate that is with the longest time period between releases.
