Re: Thank you Apple: my wrist just got a makeover
I agree with nocturnus here. I wouldn't even consider a smart watch if it weren't! an accessery to my Iphone, it's as an extention of the Iphone usability that I see the advantage.
As to portability, my issue is that when I'm out with blindsquare, i can't walk around holding my phone in one hand and my dog in the other, particularly sinse I need to either wear earbuds (a bad idea on the street), or hold the phone to my ear, plus of course if I'm holding the phone I can't use the phone, even the button for Siri, and it's much easier to tuck a cane under one arm to free a hand than it is a guide dog, (though even then it'd be hard to check while walking).
So, I fancy the extra hands free thing on the watch sinse you can do one handed gestures and also talk to the thing, and of course I'm waiting for more aps and such that use it.
Is it necessary? probably not, but it's likely something I'd find convenient
to have, sinse I do like my Iphone, (well apart from Itunes).
@Figment, thank you for telling me that the only reason I'm considering buying an Apple watch is because I want to give money to Apple, as the watch is so redundent that I can't possibly want one. I wasn't aware of this feeling myself at all, I thought I was considering buying one because it looked useful, but obviously you know much more about what I'm feeling than I do.
Btw, if you don't like the watch fare enough, but please recall there is a difference between disliking something and disliking people who like that thing.
