Re: download links to all talking windows installation images (winstaller)

James, questions for you. Firstly, while Levtec have produced some nice free utilities that I would use from time to time, if you aim to point out that winstaller was made in autoit, from what I've heard that is true, and that's why, apparently, there is no percentage bar. However, I ask what open srouced software, that involves talking windows installations, was used? Windows preinstallation may have been used, but I haven't exploered enough of an image to see whether it was. Second, where are you getting the information that Levi's dmca complaints are bogus, that he is performing illegal practices, stuff like that. There was an article that said winstaller prices fluctuated, and this isn't true, it's been the same price all along. Truth is, there's been some untrue things such as that posted about Levi and Levtec. As far as mahmood.hojabri's claims that Levtec was gonna send him a software to change the bios, I doubt he actually said that. Anyone who makes a talking windows installer certainly knows that there is absolutely no way to control the hardware bios with a software application. Sure, we have exceptions like some software Toshiba puts into their oem to control the boot order, but that is simply the way the oem was built, and that is most definitely using software implementation. The bios isn't even part of windows, it's the low-level hardware structure of a computer. It's the literal firmware, not the software, on the computer. It's what you get when there's no operating system installed, and, as low-level as it is, there is no soundcard support, no support for software, and it can't be controlled by software, because it is completely, utterly and totally outside of the ecosystem of any software operating system on the computer. The only surefire way to use the bios would be if 1 there was an industry standard, and 2 we had something like a morse code beeping pattern with the pc speaker. Only problem with that, you could end up having to pick up a pc speaker from a store that sells parts, or rip one out of an old ocmputer, as systems are starting to get rid of the low-level pc speakers. Nevertheless, if such a beeping pattern was in place, there could be possible work-arounds if the system didn't have a pc speaker built in. You could connect one yourself, or have someone help you. Bottom line, there is no possibility, at least that I'm aware of, to actually go to the extent of controlling the bios. It's true that core recovery can take you through system recovery but it's just that, system recovery, not bios. It's true that winstaller has a handy direct boot feature, which basically does what the boot helper on a linux distribution disk would do. It allows your system to perform a single cd boot, in defiance of your bios boot sequence. However, unless I'm missing something, Levtec didn't say anything about actually making a software that controls your system bios. It's a nice idea, but it's not reality unless all computer manufacturers pulled a fast one on us and actually decided to make an industry standard on the bios. That still wouldn't necessarily mean the possibility of software control, but someone with eyeballs could write down a complete menu guide for the bios that could be memorized.
