Re: turning off laptop screen?

Yeah... Seems that whether the projector trick works or not is dependent on your graphics abilities. In my case, my computer refuses to turn off the display unless it detects an HDMI connection. Unfortunately I have no VGA port. I recently read that there's a device that plugs into the HDMI port and tricks it into thinking there's a display present for this exact same purpose, and which runs for about fifteen bucks on Amazon. I may or may not go for it... I think I'll probably go for the closed lid approach first.
