I myself only had to rewrite once, the hosts were actually quite helpful in telling me what they would've liked changed, and they weren't jerks about it
over all I just feel it's the better game out of the two main space muds people play, simply because 1 it's the original one, and 2 because of the continued griefing that plagues miri
although yes the RP enforcement can sometimes be somewhat annoying, the tradeoff is well worth it IMO
