Clearly you're doing something wrong dark, as combat isn't spammy. Their are plenty of packs out there that will gag things, or learn to code and write your own gags for combat. Or, go use the sims if you don't wanna lose your own ships. Keep in mind also that your ships by default are not combat ships. So if you're trying to go and do a beacon, you're going to lose. Also look at the type of rats that you're fighting, as different rats hit harder than others.
