Yeah, mortrex's thing isn't straight out special damage anyway, it's the ridiculous negative status stacks you can get out of stifle, confusion, unending curse, and psycho trick. I mean doing some straight damage is nice with diabolical fire or black bite, but even then, the bigger threat it poses with those moves are the black bite curse or scorch. So yeah, high special attack is nice for unending curse, but otherwise what mortrex really needs is decent defenses and high speed.
