Dark, this is an extremely old game that used to run on BBS systems, like LORD, Usurper and such. So if he hosts his own copy, he can set up the settings the way he wants, or the way the player wants, whichever.
As for interface and uniqueness, I don't remember it having that much unique text. It's more like a primitive version of smugglers. And the interface is just the telnet client. You have to use telnet or a client that can accept automatic input without needing to press return, so a client like MushClient or VIP wouldn't work.
