Grryf is correct here I'm afraid. The Offtopic room is for stuff not! related to games, and muds are certainly games so I will move this topic to general game discussion where it belongs.
For Crafting muds, we actually have a very useful topic Mirage posted a while ago. It's not been made into a formal guide yet, but it still has lots of handy info and links and descriptions of several muds and the types of crafting they have.

Clok is good, I've heard good things about lament though I haven't been able to get into that game as much due to lack of information.
Frandom is also worth a try, and though you do have lots of activities from asteroid mining to archaeological research, Cosmic rage is good if you don't want a kill fest.
