Good question, the answer is no, it unfortunately can not.
it seems like direct links are an easy and commonly used way to inject viruses, so allot of services are dropping them.
With sync being as security oriented as it is, I'm not surprised it doesn't allow them, though it does offer an open button along side the download link, and the page is quite minimalistic.
I'll add that to the cons list.
I did find this tool that might help you though, if only to see how you can do the same with google and 1drive manually

Also I just learned that minimalistic isn't actually a word... Kinda like gamers, replayability, and reupload. :-(
