Using editors apart from WYSIWYG editors might help here. I myself used and am using Latex for all of my thesis. Its not like this will end up producing no errors at all, but it will reduce the amount of visible problems. You will still require someone sighted to take a look at it and correct some formatting errors you won't be able to detect, but its in any case better than MS Word or other editors which end up creating more trouble. Thats especially recommended when writing scientific papers or thesis with mathematics, formulas, properly formatted code snippets and such.
