I don't understand why those clones would be demotivating for new developers. The reason those clones came up here is, a developer worked with a person who was not trustworthy and who, in a fit of rage, gave the source code out. So if new developers don't pick untrustworthy people and share their code with them, that game of theirs will not be cloned. Rather than being taken as demotivating, I think that this cloning business must be taken as a lesson to pick trustworthy people for the part of development where code of projects are involved.
there is something I could say in reply to this, but trying to hold myself back a bit. it could cause a mob, or outrage from people that hate hearing the truth
