I would say no to this approach, as Apple may detect that you are running a MacIntosh operating system on non-apple hardware, and therefore cannot run apple programs that need a legitimate Apple authorization key.
I suggest that you get one of those used but still working MacIntoshes off of EBey or something, or a Mac Mini. Those are your cheapest options out there.
