Re: General fighting game banter

@42 Dude, first time I played super punchout it was on that gamecube disk. I had played it on PS2 before and when I found it on the GC disk I didn't know wtf it was.. lol. Although looking back the super punchout on GC had a weird lag that's not there in the actual version and lag and punchout is not a good combo, no pun intended.
You don't have to do the minigames. There is a weight lifting game, which you can kinda do if latency isn't an issue for you. Basically, you use the sticks, lift up and you have to let it go as soon as your character exhales. Left first, rite second. It's a little tricky but it can be done. The ones with the bag where you have to hit head and body, it's a bit of a guessing game, so you can do either pretty good or pretty bad. The other one where it asks for specific punches, is impossible. Don't do that one.
Thankfully there is a training mode where you just choose settings and go. When you enter it, you'll be on a stress setting, I.E. easy, medium or hard. This controls how hard you work your guy during training. It makes lower to higher pitch gear grinding noises when you cycle through them. You don't wanna do hard to much or you'll end up hurting your boxer. After you select your stress level, if you go down, there is different types of training, 3 to be exact, and by default, you'll be on balance. Once to the rite is speed, and another rite will take you to power and that's it. So if you press A at this point you'll go through the training.
For the knockdown minigame it's also a bit of a guessing game. To get up, you you begin the motion by moving the left stick to the rite, and the rite stick to the left, so towards each other. Then you have to move one down and one up but still maintain the positions of the sticks on the controllers. Theirs too possibilities. If the first one doesn'twork, do the second one, and you should get up. But when you first move the sticks to each other, wait for the crowd cheering to get as loud as possible before doing the opposing up/down motion or you won't get up. Hope that was good enough lol if you need more help, just ask.
Oh the cutman game. That's easy. Just remember that left side of your boxer's face is rite on the left stick, and rite side of your boxer's face is left on the left stick. From there when it starts beeping just move the rite stick in a semi-circle, down and rite, over and over again. If it stops beeping, switch to another side, and if it starts beeping again, do the motion with the rite stick. Sometimes it won't be obvious where the swelling is when you first try to position the left stick because theirs 3 positions of left and rite. Up left and up rite, regular rite and left, and down rite and down left.
Maybe I should play through this game.... hmm. big_smile
