I dont like the plastic casing on the 2ds xl though, but as long as you dont drop it round when you have it in a bag or apply too much pressure on it then it will be ok. I took mine with me on a trip over seas and the top screen got cracked because my carryon was handled too roughly. Maybe get a case for it. If you get a regular 2ds, I recommend a case for that too, to protect the screen since it's cant close.
