I'm also using the new html5 player and it works for the most part. And yes, if you have a YouTube channel and have content on it, go to www.youtube.com/analytics to see how it applies to your channel.
I guess if you really want audio files, there are a lot of YouTube to mp3 converters out there that will do the job.
