Nope, I've got chrono cores on everything for now, and am headed for the hyper Maustadon. Just loaded up another file to check since I couldn't remember the stats, and it gives 20 to both attack stats and both defense stats. This is probably more useful for the first half of the game or at least until it gets sludge hammer.
