Re: Space wave race has been released.
@Rising pixel, thanks, that did it, I have the new version and I'll be giving it a try.
@Jason, whether you buy the game or not is up to you.
The games' best features imho are it's incredibly good soundtrack, great atmosphere, actual graphics that reminded me of several classic games like wipeout, continually finding new places to race on as well as working through 40 or so different locations with different names, unlocking new spaceship types along the way, and a style of gameplay that's nicely easy to pick up and just jam along to.
The game does not do anything revolutionary, and other than the now fixed bug, the gameplay isn't overly challenging or different to what's been seen previously, there is a little racing tactics in terms of which side to take curves on and how best to handle incoming double asteroids, but nothing as detailed as something like battle racing or even top speed, since your still working essentially on a 3 stereo lane system, and at least some of the obstacles, like the enemy space ships, are just your usual "centre, wait for the right time and shoot", type of audio challenges we've seen before.
I can't say how it compares to the other racing titles from audio.it such as audiospeed or audio moto championship, since racing games are less my thing and I bought this more for the scifi atmosphere, chance to dodge asteroid and blow up spaceships while zipping along, which in fairness is indeed lots of fun.
I'd say that if your looking for a revolutionary new racing game, or something with amazingly complex mechanics , then your probably going to be disappointed.
if you just want something relaxing and fun with a great soundtrack and a nice atmosphere, then feel free to give this a go.
