Re: A non-online football (soccer) manager?

Well in good old 80s, Tracksuit Manager, (check it in wikipedia, I played it for years), even on Commodore 64, had quite a nice, interesting, and detailed (as you call it "in depth") match commentary, so if programmers, game developers could do it back then, I do hope they can do it now, in modern days too.
