not infested village, no. infested village is where you at least have like 30-50 dodge. at 0, you have hard time there especially if you're a newb.
2. Whatever weapon you use most often is the weapon you have highest skill at. If you wanna use bow, not dagger, hit them with that no matter how long the battle has to be or how injured you can be. Don't weigh yourself down with unnecessary stuff. Stow what you don't use wherever convenient. Keep it light, and see what abilities you can take to enhance your training.
My playstyle is no horse except in certain rare occasions, don't get hit by stealth penalty from wearing armors...oh wait right, type effect while you're at it. Armors decrease stealth! I forgot that!
