Re: Scenario training!

I like this idea, though I don't know if the goal is for us to test you or for you to test us. Now down to the point.

First of all, I think this is a trick question because no way in hell would Marie be messing about in the command prompt unless she worked in IT. Even if she wanted to, it would probably be blocked. If she worked in IT, she'd already know what to do, but provided this isn't a trick question...

I don't have an answer, but I'll try to work backwards and eliminate choices. I can't rule out B, because it could always be malware, though I'd put the scan off because I feel there are likelier candidates. If it were a DNS issue, that would be simple to rule out. All she would need to do is ask a coworker if she could look at their internal IP address and try to ping it from her machine. If it worked, no DNS issue. It could very well be a firewall issue - though my experience with firewalls is very limited so I wouldn't really know where to start with that. I doubt it would be a DHCP issue because I don't think you'll find they use that in corporate settings. I could be wrong, but it makes just as much sense that internal IP addresses remain static like their external ones do.

Now for my question. This will be a write-in, no multiple choice because I'm curious what you come up with.

Amy brings her work laptop into the IT department because it disconnects from WiFi seemingly at random. When this happens, the only thing that fixes it is to restart the machine. It's running Windows 10 1903, and apart from this issue, everything else seems fine with the machine. She is issued a new laptop while you work on this one. After putting it through it's paces, you notice that it will sometimes last days worth of seemingly normal use before disconnecting and refusing to reconnect. However, sometimes it's only a matter of hours. What is the issue likely to be?
