Quest to the core has no exploration feature, so you don't have to worry about clicking the squares. When you die to traps or monsters, you loose some gold and experience and are brought back on the temple square of your last save floor. But you get revived with very little health, so you should refill it. You are on the temple square anyway. After that, you can go to the portal and warp directly to the deepest dungeon floor you've reached so far.
