metallic is the hardest difficulty, I'm not actually sure how difficult it would be at your current stats but when I did it I had the last hope eternal upgrade, and everything died in 2 or 3 hits excluding bosses
also on the items thing, the best I've gotten is around 85 as well, so I'm assuming there are just some well hidden things lying around
