or, for that matter, since you're already taking concepts from other games, why not give us the option as to what we wish to place, say, skill points or practices into? Someone might be better with a particular weapon, while someone else might prefer to be a true assassin and be able to walk up to someone else without any warning whatsoever and knife right through them. Someone might like the idea of having tons of hitpoints while others might like speed. Some might like the ability to gain more xp to try and level faster and forget all of the above, leaving themselves more vulnerable to other players who have placed their points into some of the other mentioned matters. Accuracy which can produce better results from wider ranges or from greater distances, dodging capabilities that would improve as points are put into them, greater jumps, other weapons to unlock, the world of possibilities lies before you. Most importantly though, don't make the differences too noticeable; make them small amounts that one wouldn't notice until the player was quite a few levels in so they would actually have to work to get there rather than, as Assault pointed out, matters that give people huge advantages right off the bat.
