@dark i've just got one of the red dwarf novels, infinity welcomes careful drivers, which i'm enjoying quite a lot. Their are some differences that i'm noticing from the tv series, the main one being that rimmer wasn't the reason for the death of the crew, but other than that i'm really liking it. In fact I like the way they go into detail about the initial failure of the driveplate, where as in the series they just simpply said rimmer failed to repair it properly and that was it.
