The reason that you're having these issues is because switching the keyboard in control pannel isn't going to change the keyboard when you're in the game. The reason text is scrambbled is that the microsoft IME needs to be active for text to translate properly to the clipboard. BK 3 is coded differently than Shadow Line, which is the reason this doesn't happen with BK 3. Also, if you're using clipboard to Sapi make sure shadow line is actually outputting to the clipboard and that you're using the right synthesizer. If Espeak is reading gibberish and not changing to protalker and reading Japanese, the characters aren't being converted properly from the game and the Japanese keyboard is the only thing that fixes it. Whenever I start the game, if I use the US keyboard I get gibberish as well. I have to press alt+shift to change keyboards to the Japanese keyboard.
