There's really no way to know, other than listening. But I doubt you're going to find much difference without an equipment upgrade. You might also try the digital coax output while you're experimenting. Some here have commented it sounds better than optical on their systems. Unfortunately, there's no one answer because there are so many variables, including (and perhaps most important) your own ears and your own listening environment.
