I don't know. I was listening to my SB3 yesterday when a song came on that literally shocked me. I thought someone was in the room with me playing guitar all of sudden. You know who it was? Pete Townshend, and it was a song from one of The Who's greatest hits albums. And, what's more amazing, it was a 128 kbs mp3! I guess a FLAC version may have sounded even a little better, but it goes to show you that the original recording and digital transfer is THE most important link in the audio chain, despite all the protestations here about power supplies and DAC's (of which, I'm guilty, as well). -- ezkcdude SB3->Derek Shek TDA1543/CS8412 NOS DAC->MIT Terminator 2 interconnects->Endler Audio 24-step Attenuators (RCA-direct)->Parasound Halo A23 125W/ch amplifier->anti-cables->DIY 2-ways + Dayton Titanic 10" subwoofer He's not hi-fi, he's my stereo. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ezkcdude's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2545 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=21628 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
