I was doing more experimenting this evening.  I'm afraid I'm not sure
of the frequency of the hum, but it has a transformery sound to it.  

What I found in this evening's fiddling was that a ferrite choke on the
lead between the SB's power supply and the Squeezebox actually got rid
of the hum all together.  The choke is close the PS end of the lead.
