Hi there, I have had (and have) a number of amps and a common question is what difference does it make.
I upgraded from an AV receiver (Yamy/Denon had both) to a Cyrus 7 (now 8vs). Then I upgraded my main room to Classe Cp2100 (see http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=19817&page=23) Let me give you an analogy from music ripping to how these sound Basic AV Amp ($300-$2000) = 96-128kbs mp3 track Medium (Cyrus 8) = 256-320 kbs mp3 track High End (Classe) = Lossless track Now combine your source (eg. lossless) with the above medium or high end and you really have something special. One recommendation, Rotel has just released some info on some amazing looking digital power amps. The stereo is Class D Rotel RB-1092 priced at $2500. http://theaterathome.blogspot.com/2006/04/rotel-rb-1091-and-rb-1092-power.html and http://www.avreview.co.uk/news/article/mps/UAN/646/v/1/sp/ You might check these out before going fully integrated http://www.avreview.co.uk/news/article/mps/UAN/646/v/1/sp/ -- ajmitchell ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ajmitchell's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=800 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=24396 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
