20 yards of wire travel, or straight line distance?

Ideally the amp would be in the same room as the SB, shorter signal
cables and longer speaker cables. A rack is not essential for it's
operation- it has footers to rest on as well. 

Do you have a basement where you could install the amp below the recess
you cut in the wall for the SB? Or an out of the way electrical socket
in the same room, where you could hide the amp somewhere near the
floor, and install a wall plate alongside the electrical outlet for
your speaker cables etc.? Then you need a way to wire the power cord
and rca's from the electrical outlet into the wall recess, but it
should be easy (having the recess cut in the wall)-if not up to code. 

As far as unobstrusive goes, I really like the self amplified Swans
sleepysurf suggested. . .
