Ok, done more listening. Let me describe what I am hearing. Using DCC2 SE in Master Clock mode, BNC out to Transporter Word Clock In. Changed settings in Player Settings...
It sounds different. I was at first a little confused to the sound, but after more listening, and comparing it with and without the DCC2 SE as master clock, I think I am coming to realize the difference. Images are more defined and seem to be more precise with the clock cable. This clearer outline of the images make things more 'position' oriented. And somehow, the sound seems slightly less blended then without the clock cable. The size of the sound is now very defined. The amount of 'space' (air some would call) seems to have been enhanced. I need to do further listening. On some music, the clocked setup is obviously more transparent and reveal more subtilties. But on some recordings, it almost makes things a tad too dry for my taste. need more time... -- WSLam WSLam 'Transporter' (http://www.slimdevices.com/) + 'SB3' (http://www.slimdevices.com/) -> 'EMM Labs DCC2 SE' (www.emmlabs.com/html/audio/dcc2/dcc2.html) -> 'Acoustic Reality eAR1001' (http://www.acoustic-reality.com) -> 'Magico Mini' (http://www.magico.net) 'Photos of Transporter, Inside & Out' (http://photos.lam.ws/gallery/1930618) | 'Photos of my Setup' (http://photos.lam.ws/gallery/1573984/1/87768997) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ WSLam's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=830 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=27927 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
