Ronald, I'm thinking of doing the same...synchronous reclocking using the mclk in the Dac...following John S's lead.
Are you buffering the mclk output out of the dac? I'm trying to assess how critical this is. I'm thinking of placing an SB3 board inside my dac to keep the cable as short as possible. How did you reduce the mclk from 5V to 3.3V?
