If you're interested in things like the Benchmark, then you're probably better off trying a pro audio dealer rather than a HiFi shop. Since you're in London, an obvious place to try would be Digital Village - they've got stores in Barnet, Chadwell Heath, Croydon and Acton. The Barnet shop was happy to let me buy a Lucid DA9624 on sale-or-return a few years ago. (I returned it).
