Yes it's really important to keep an eye on what the RC is doing to avoid large boosts in the lower midband as this is where most of the power is required on rock and pop and amps will run out of steam / overheat / clip / damage speakers if running with a lot (hard to quantify - say > 10dB0 of boost in the 200Hz-800Hz range).
The fact that RC occurs in the digital domain has no bearing on this - at the end of the day the signal going into the amp is being boosted - it doesn't matter how it got boosted. Generally if you are needing large boosts you need to reduce the overall gain to compensate and avoid the above problems. Yes you lose some max volume but there should still be plenty of headroom for normal listening. -- Phil Leigh ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Phil Leigh's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=85 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35615 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
