ReplayGain adds "distortion" only in the same way that any other linear
amplitude adjustment in the digital domain does: it can increase
quantisation noise. But since the TP's digital volume control works at
24 bit precision, it is highly unlikely that any change to the
quantisation noise will be audible. Since you already use the TP's
digital volume control, I'd guess that you are not concerned by this
issue.

Note: there is one other way that ReplayGain can add distortion: if the
ReplayGain value is positive (which is pretty rare) such that applying
it would bring the peak level above 0dB, then clipping will be
introduced. See http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=5119 for
details.
