Yes! I think that would be fair, since the person had at least TRIED
the darned things in the first place and recounted their own personal
experiences.  

Otherwise -- and it's a bit of an extreme example -- it's little more
than this sort of exchange (and one I see all the time on another topic
rife with personal tastes, food):

Post: "Looking for Good Indian Restaurant"

Reply: "How can you eat that crap?"

Counter Reply: "Ever tried it?"

Response: "No; I can't get past the smell.  I just know I wouldn't like
it."

BTW, I'm sorry to hear you lost your house to power cord purchases.
