If "jitter-bugging" isn't the theme of this thread then what is it? As Sean said earlier, the only reason to use wordclock in the context of hi-fi is to minimise jitter. There are other techniques which also achieve similarly effective results. Not just my opinion - I believe this to be a widely held view.
