alexz, The point you seem to fail to grasp is that, for ethernet, it doesn't matter whether the S/N is 80 or 85dB - as long as the packets can be transmitted and received accurately. It simply doesn't matter. Period. It has *no effect whatsoever* on the quality of the audio transmitted asynchronously over that wire. None. Zero. They are the same. Now, synchronous transmission over an analogue medium (ie. SPDIF) is a different matter, but as far as ethernet is concerned a CAT5 cable is a CAT5 cable.
