I have just received my duet and it is linked up to a naim/exposure/shahinian £7k system. Sounds good to me. Not as good as my Sondek and vinyl but on a par, not the same but good enough, with my consonance CD player.
"Audiophile" is in the ears and concentration not in the price of the kit. One of my first dealers used to have "people with ears" and "people with bonuses" sections. You can get "Audiophile" with £150 from ebay. So although i agree Audiophile snobs who claim they can hear "which side of a triangle is being struck" (which you can't do in a live concert) may turn up their noses. People who like music who also own expensive hi-fi's will judge it on merit; and of course convenience.
