Hi ModelCitizen. Thanks. I would like to try a Transporter, but I dont see how I can borrow one for a couple of days. I really dont want to buy one and return it just to try it out. The audio store didnt have any other DACs that were in my price range. The Mark Levinson was on consignment for $1500, but it didnt have the warm tonality that I prefer. They did say that they would call me if other DACs came in.
Hi Anne. The interesting part about the 128 Kb/sec streaming files was that they were Rhapsody downloads, not channels. I tried to compare the Rhapsody tracks with same ones I already had on CD or as Flac. To my disappointment I discovered that the Squeezebox doesnt really download 160 Kb/sec WMA files like you would get if you logged on from your computer and played them through the computer speakers. It streams them at 128 Kb/sec. Apparently, the downloaded Squeezebox files are just bookmarks to the files on the Rhapsody website. Do you know if there is a way to get better quality files from Rhapsody using the Squeezebox? -- duke43j ------------------------------------------------------------------------ duke43j's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15911 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=46533
