If you're handy with a soldering iron, there's an outfit in Sweden that does kit amps using the Tripath chips. See www.41hz.com.
I've built the AMP6, which is the low-end one using a TA2020 chip. It was pretty easy to put together. (The other kits use quite a few surface mount components, and I for one don't feel comfortable with doing a lot of those. The AMP6 only has about a dozen SMDs - diodes and inductors, nothing really fiddly like you see in a Squeezebox). -- cliveb Transporter -> ATC SCM100A ------------------------------------------------------------------------ cliveb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=348 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=46743 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
