I have the VDA-2 and love it. It does sound better than the SB3's internal DAC, regardless of what others might say.
Having said that, in your case I really would not bother. If you were using lossless files that would be a different story (and that would still depend on your ears and how picky you are). I am not saying the VDA-2 won't improve the sound of radio streams. It probably will. But you can only get so good with lossy radio streams.
