One thing you might get from a little better drive is better C2 error
support and faster ripping.  dBpoweramp makes good use of C2 while EAC
doesn't make good use of it and you don't want to use it.  You can get
accurate rips from any decent drive with either of these programs but a
better drive might be faster and last longer.  I'm talking 50 -100 not
1000.
