Mr O. I think you must be right. I didn't think of doing what you
suggested ... and yes of course there is no DC offset in the recordings
so it MUST be a bug in ADM, that is caused when it has to boost the
signal to compensate for the large gain difference. Doh! Sorry Sean...

Anyway, I think the good news is that the volume control is basically
transparent. I'll try the digital level control at the weekend.
