Thanks for your tips. Searching for the Beyer DT770 seems to bring up a wide range of prices and a variety of different versions. The official site shows a 80 ohm and a 250 ohm model, but I don't see 600 ohm anywhere. Can you clarify this? The AKGs claim 62 ohm - does that make them easier to drive with a dedicated headphone amp? What is the advantage of the higher impedance which seems to be preferred in the more expensive phones? The extra wire in the voice coil must have mass implications. -- Labarum Brian Squeezebox 3 Classic and Virgin Cable Box Beresford DAC TC-7510 MK6/4 - Quad 405-2 refurbished by 405man Quart 980s Speakers ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Labarum's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19963 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63677 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
